BELECKE, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regulatory News:
AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS) and GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, Hong Kong, signed at the end of 2010 a contract for Thyrobox™ M power supply systems to support GCL-Poly in achieving its goal to expand its position as one of the leading polysilicon and wafer suppliers in the world. The value of the contract totals €36 million.
AEG Power Solutions, wholly-owned by 3W Power Holdings S.A. (Euronext Amsterdam 3WP, Frankfurt 3W9, ISIN GG00B39QCR01, WKN A0Q5SX), is a global provider of premium power electronics. GCL-Poly is delivering high quality and low cost silicon products to the solar industry and is headquartered in Hong Kong with its principal business operations based in mainland China.
Thyrobox™ M, AEG PS’s latest modular system, is the world’s most compact power solution for polycrystalline silicon deposition process. Depending on the type of reactor, its footprint is about 25% smaller than previous Thyrobox solutions, and up to 70% smaller than competing products. The compact design reduces installation, commissioning and maintenance costs for the entire energy supply as well as building costs. With advanced process monitoring capabilities, a 0.95 power factor and more than 99% energy efficiency, the Thyrobox™ M delivers unprecedented performance, reliability and stability to polysilicon manufacturers worldwide.
After a decline and a steady period, the market for polysilicon is showing signs of new growth, reflected by the number of new projects and capacity expansions launched currently on a global base.
For many years, AEG Power Solutions has maintained excellent business relations with GCL-Poly and proved to be one of their premium suppliers and technology partners.
“The Chinese market, and especially the market for solar products, is growing quickly and remains one of our business focuses for the coming years. With the latest contract, GCL-Poly confirms the existing partnership and proves its confidence in AEG PS as one of their leading technology suppliers. We feel very honoured that we have been chosen to contribute to GCL’s success,” states Gladwyn De Vidts, AEG Power Solutions’ Vice President Power Control Systems.
“About 4 years ago, we started our cooperation with AEG PS, one of the top global power system technology suppliers. It is our strategy to work only with manufacturers that offer premium quality products. We are happy to reinforce our good relationship with AEG PS,” says Mr. Shu Hua, the Executive Director and President of GCL-Poly.
