Rubylane.com Ranked Top Online Antiques Mall in 2011 Seller's Choice Marketplace Ratings

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Auctionbytes.com, an independent trade publication for online merchants, released its 2011 Seller's Choice Marketplace Ratings this week – ranking Ruby Lane as the top online site to sell antiques and collectibles.

Close to 2,800 online sellers were asked to rate 16 e-commerce sites including Amazon, Bonanza, Craigslist, eBay, Etsy, Ruby Lane, and Tias, in several categories. Online sellers rated the marketplaces and judged them on profitability, customer service, communication and ease-of-use, and provided comments explaining their ratings and providing details about the rewards and challenges of selling on each. Respondents also indicated on a scale of 1-10 how likely they were to recommend the marketplace as a selling venue to a friend or colleague.

“We are excited that sellers ranked Ruby Lane as the top place online to sell their antiques and collectibles,” says Palmer Pekarek, director of communications and new business development at Ruby Lane. “Although we were ranked number one in every category in 2010 by sellers, we are equally honored to have been ranked 3rd overall this year.”

Ruby Lane came in 3rd place overall in Auctionbytes Seller Choice Marketplace Ratings in the survey areas of: Profitability, Ease of Use, Communications with sellers, and Recommending the site as a selling venue to others. Additionally, the sites Customer Service was ranked the 4th best online.

“We really pay close attention to all the comments made in the survey and work diligently for our buyers and sellers to improve our services,” said Pekarek. “And with some great new tools and features rolling-out this year, we are confident that shopping on Ruby Lane will be even more pleasurable.”
