High-Performance Healthcare from Baldrige Award Recipients Poudre Valley Health System and Monfort College of Business

LOVELAND, Colo.--()--A new two-day workshop designed to help healthcare organizations accelerate on the path to high performance will soon be available from two recipients of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Poudre Valley Health System, a 2008 recipient, and the Monfort Institute, part of 2004 recipient Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado, will offer the workshop on March 10-11 and again on June 9-10, 2011 in Loveland, Colorado.

“The High Performance Healthcare workshop is packed with new insights from the Monfort Institute’s research on Baldrige Award recipients and best practices from Poudre Valley Health System,” said Priscilla Nuwash, MBA, CLM, President of Poudre Valley’s Center for Performance Excellence. “This hands-on experience will give participants the essentials they need for a successful journey to performance excellence. It will also give those interested in the Baldrige Award process a jump start.”

Topics covered in the workshop include the following:

  • Leading a sustainable organizational transformation
  • Developing a focused strategy and strategic management process
  • Understanding stakeholders’ needs and building relationships
  • Developing a compelling directive
  • Enabling, empowering, and engaging your people
  • Developing a measurement system and scorecard
  • Comprehensive organizational performance analysis and review
  • Developing and deploying action plans

A highlight will be a site visit to Poudre Valley’s state-of-the-art Medical Center of the Rockies and a question-and-answer session with Rulon F. Stacey, PhD, FACHE, President/CEO of Poudre Valley Health System and Chair of the College of American Healthcare Executives.

John Latham, PhD, Director of the Monfort Institute, and expert in leadership and organizational excellence, will lead the workshop along with Priscilla Nuwash and others at Poudre Valley Health System and the Monfort Institute.
