The draft of Energy-Efficient and New-Energy Vehicle Development Plan (2011-2020), formulated by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was issued in 2010, under which the central government will earmark RMB 100 billion for industry chain buildup of new-energy vehicles in the ten years to come. The message herein is that developing new-energy vehicles has been crowned as a national strategy. It is also stated in the plan that China’s new-energy vehicle industry is expected to rank first worldwide in terms of commercialization and market size by 2020. In this regard, power battery as one of the core technologies for electric vehicles weighs on the commercialization and mass production of new-energy vehicles.
March of 2011 will see the opening of China Li Power: 4th Global & China Li-Battery Industry Summit 2011, one of China’s most influential events, in Shenzhen.
