TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TheRedPin.com, a newly launched “One-Stop Condo destination” for Toronto and the GTA, has made a New Years Resolution to do things differently.
On the heels of an economic recession and in a world tuning in to the need for sustainability, we are all too aware that things need to change. And homebuyers are demanding it.
To lead this change , TheRedPin is partnering with Options for Homes, a non-profit that has provided home ownership to over 2,100 households in the GTA with incomes as low as $30,000. The Options housing model has also been adapted to communities across Canada.
Options’ unique second mortgage, a loan you make no payments towards until you sell or rent your suite, makes home ownership possible for most Options owners 10 years sooner than it otherwise would be.
“We see 96% owner occupancy in our developments on average which makes for really strong communities,” says Options for Homes’ marketing co-ordinator, Jessica Speziale.
Developments by Options for Homes, including the Village by High Park at Keele and Dundas and the new Cranbrooke Village at Bathurst and Lawrence in Toronto, also feature solar hot water heating, car sharing, and heat-recovery ventilation systems.
With a focus on cost-effectiveness, community, and environmental sustainability, Options for Homes is doing things differently.
“We are very proud to be working with Options for Homes mainly because we can see how they touch people's lives every day. They've made home ownership a reality for countless families through developing a completely new way of funding, organizing and building new homes. This partnership feels natural to us since we too try to live up to our mantra of real change through innovation. We're extremely excited to support non-profit organizations such as Options.” says TheRedPin’s CEO, Shayan Hamidi.
TheRedPin knows 9 out of 10 Canadian home buyers start their search online. They want to make information more accessible by providing a complete database of all available new condo developments that includes condo floor plans and amenities, nearby neighbourhood amenities like schools and daycares, and real estate stats.
TheRedPin and Options for Homes are looking forward to providing home seekers with a different way to find their way home in 2011.
