ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New York City Police Commissioner William J. Bratton praised the advanced level attained by the police and security work at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, which, he said: “has become one of the best police institutions in the world.” Commissioner Bratton also expressed his admiration regarding the methods used to implement modern technologies within the policing systems in the various departments of the Abu Dhabi Police. John J. Miller, Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism of the New York City Police Department, accompanied Commissioner Braxton alongside other delegates.
Commissioner Braxton’s visit falls in line with the framework of exchanging visits, information, and experiences between the US Police and Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), had received the American delegation upon their arrival and later provided a detailed explanation regarding the achievements of the Abu Dhabi Police CID alongside the various initiatives and improvements conducted in accordance with the best practices and standards in police work. He also discussed the most prominent features of the general strategy, and of the services provided to the public in order to reflect and support the multi-faceted progression of the UAE.
Both parties addressed a number of topics of common interest during the visit and discussed ways to strengthen and enhance cooperation in the fields of police work. The discussions between the delegations served to enhance the exchange of knowledge and expertise, explore the best practices, and to promote partnerships in order to achieve the vision and goals of the UAE Ministry of Interior.
The American delegation additionally toured the sections and facilities of the CID and became acquainted with the methods and speed of response in the handling of reports. The delegation also reviewed the equipment at the forensics e-laboratory in addition to the electronic shooting range, simulators, and security training scenarios.
