CHIBA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) announced the release of the S-19212 Series automotive LDO regulator with 36V high input voltage and 250mA output current, featuring a super low current consumption of 6.5uA and high output voltage accuracy of +/-2.0%. The innovative S-19212 Series is the perfect match for automotive use in constant-voltage power supply for ECUs for engines, transmissions and suspensions, Anti-lock Brake Systems, related Electric Vehicle equipment, and Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle electronics. Other typical automotive applications include Body ECUs for bodies, headlamps, ITS, and accessories, navigation systems, and audio systems.
The S-19212 Series was specifically developed to meet the demanding high quality requirements for automotive use. The 36V maximum input voltage (rating 45V) and the operating temperature range up to 125 degrees C enable operation in high input voltage and high temperature applications such as engines. The selectable output voltage ranges from 2.5V to 16V in 0.1V steps. The packages are the lead-free and halogen-free HSOP-8A, HSOP-6, SOT-89-5, and SOT-23-5. A build-in overcurrent protection circuit limits overcurrent of the output transistor and a built-in thermal shutdown circuit limits heat, and the ON/OFF circuit helps extend battery life. Ceramic capacitors as small as 1.0uF are available for input and output capacitors. The junction temperature range is from −40 to +150 degrees C.
The S-19212 Series has options available with a thermal simulation service which offers a suggestion of thermal resistance value and recommended wiring ratio to help customers select packages. AEC-Q100 is currently in process, and the application for PPAP approval is available.
SII has a well-established and recognized track record for providing reliable serial EEPROMs to automotive manufacturers and holds the No.1 market share in Japan. SII continues to improve device reliability and to expand product line-up for automotive applications.
