TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tannus Co.,Ltd. (CEO : Lee Sung Yull) launched the New Version Collection of their maintenance-free Next Generation Bike Tire “Tannus” to the global market. This new collection of tires will be available in the market from March, 2015. Exact dates of sales start differs by country and market, due to delivery time difference and market conditions.
[Tannus Background]
Tannus is a global bike tire brand
producing and providing the SOLID Structure bike tires since 2011.
Tannus has spent over a decade perfecting the compound polymer before
introducing these revolutionary tires to the global market. Tannus tires
not only replicate the weight but also the performance of a traditional
pneumatic tire.
Made from a very special Micro Closed Cell Polymer Resin “Aither”,
Tannus tire uses a foaming technology. And, it may look similar to that
used in many lightweight sports shoes, but it is totally different from
any other foaming technology both in terms of its process or the
condition. It is made from the one-and-only material “Aither compound”
with a very unique foaming process.
Aither compound is extremely
light weight and the tire produced with this material weighs just about
the same as pneumatic tires, which volume is mostly air.
(700 x 23C
Tannus tire weigh only 430g)
Aither compound has very strong
independence, and is extremely durable against any chemical attack from
the outside. Thus, the products never be hydrolyzed, aged, degraded, nor
show any color fade-outs.
Tannus products made from Aither compound
is totally different from all other solid bike tires, no-flat bike
tires, and are the “Bike Tire of the Next Generation”.
For the first time, at the London Bike Show (February 12th ~
15th , 2015), Tannus unveiled its brand new collection for
2015 with the new version compound, Aither 1.1.
The existing tire
range has been renewed, not only with the lighter and more flexible
compound, but also with new tread patterns and the size balance.
Characteristics of “Aither1.1 Compound”
Aither 1.1 has much
enhanced elasticity than Aither 1.0, ensuring a better feel whilst
riding and good grip performance. Furthermore, Aither1.1 is performing
at a much lower rolling resistance – approximately 15% less. It now has
the rolling resistance rate that closely matches premium pneumatic city
bike tires, taking this a step closer to ideal bike tire.
This is
no more an “Evolution”, but is a “Revolution” !
As well as having qualities such as similar weight, grip performance, ride durability, similar rolling resistance rate, and similar Price Point as pneumatic tires, with this new compound upgrade, the Tannus Aither1.1 version can withstand the commuting and training – supporting the cyclists of the world by terminating the biggest headache of bikes – punctures.
You no more need AIR to run bicycles, and no need of worrying the air leak nor having the tire to be flat.
