HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. (BRS Labs), creator of AISight®, the artificial intelligence-based analytics solution that teaches itself to recognize and alert on abnormal patterns within massive volumes of data, will exhibit its award-winning technology at The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Annual Convention November 9th-13th. This year’s event is being hosted by The Port of Houston Authority in Houston, Texas.
Each year, U.S. ports handle more than two billion tons of domestic, import and export cargo. On a daily basis, more than $3.8 billion worth of goods move in and out of these ports, the value of which equates to more than 11% of the total U.S. GDP (AAPA). As critical infrastructure, U.S. ports are vulnerable to a wide array of threats, such as terrorism, vandalism, theft, and safety issues that have costly and far-reaching impacts on the U.S. economy.
Maintaining a safe and operational infrastructure is imperative not only to U.S. Security, but security worldwide. While major ports typically have surveillance cameras in place to combat security issues, historical means of monitoring video from these cameras leave the door open for potential threats and safety concerns.
“BRS Labs is excited to showcase the AISight platform’s revolutionary capabilities at the AAPA Convention,” said Keith Drummond, Executive Vice President of Sales for BRS Labs. “Our technology has already proven highly valuable in the world of intelligent video analytics, most recently with big wins in the mass transit industry. We are looking forward to showing the port industry how AISight can elevate their security standards with proactive and real-time analytics, as well as analyze other multi-sensor, big data issues they face."
BRS Labs’ AISight software is self-learning behavioral recognition technology that delivers real-time alerts so that safety and operations personnel can work with greater precision by focusing on areas where potentially dangerous activity is taking place. In the area of intelligent video analytics, AISight’s ability to cut through thousands of hours of video footage and provide real-time video alerts to security personnel has proved transformative.
